Last year, it was announced that Reba McEntire was slated to star in an NBC television remake of Fried Green Tomatoes, but that's not happening after all. She told Taste of Country Nights, On Demand, "It just kinda went away, unfortunately. We were right in there in the running and they (the network) passed on it." 

 

She added, "It was a great idea, it had a great script written for it. That’s showbiz."

 

Reba's not too upset over the lost deal. She has several others in works. She said, “What I’ve learned from Fried Green Tomatoes is you’d better have lots of balls in the air and plates spinning, because you never know which one is going to go through. Yeah, we’re working on a lot of different projects. Hopefully, fingers crossed, one of them will go through."

 

Reba released her Revised Remixed Revisted boxed set earlier this month. The project includes a version of "Does He Love You" as a duet with Dolly Parton.
