Welcome to Buddha’s Blog. A chance for me to share a few thoughts on a topic. This Sunday would have been my maternal grandfather’s 119th birthday. When he was 12 years old his mother died. Leaving him and his siblings in a very difficult situation. His father told all of the kids he didn’t want them and told them move out. My grandfather moved in with a relative. He graduated from high school and soon married my grandmother. They had four children, with my mother being the youngest. He farmed and eventually gathered enough property to have a net worth of $100,000. That was always his dream. Times in the first half of the 1900”s were very different. Farmers lived mainly eating what they raised. Went to church on Sunday. No TV just a radio. He always had a habit of eating another piece of meat after dessert at supper time. He had every right to be proud of his economic success. Until next time.
