Johnny Cash's Daughter-in-Law Cuts New Track "Brand New Pair of Shoes" From His Unused Lyrics

The Man in Black is back...sort of! Ana Cristina Cash--who's married to John Carter Cash, son of the late Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash--uses some of Johnny's never-before-heard lyrics on a new track called "Brand New Pair of Shoes."

Says Ana Cristina, a former Latin music prodigy, "My husband brought 'Brand New Pair of Shoes' to me on a piece of paper...It was very short, very few words. I sat with them for a while, and I really just wanted to do them justice."

She adds, "It sounded very playful and flirtatious. John Carter told me 'He's definitely talking about my mom.' Those lyrics are playful yet sarcastic at the same time.

It was really an honor to put them to music.” "Brand New Pair of Shoes" will appear on Ana Cristina's new album Shine, due out this coming Friday on the couple's Avondale Records.

Willie Nelson's Virtual Farm Aid Raises More Than $500,000 for U.S. Farmers

Legal, financial and mental-health resources are also funded by the event and can be accessed via the 1-800-FARM-AID hotline.

The online event featured performers like Neil Young, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp.

Dolly Parton Calls Kenny Rogers the Best Singer "in the History of Music" on "Biography"

Dolly Parton pays props to the late, great Kenny Rogers on A&E's Biography: Kenny Rogers.

In a clip from Rogers' 2017 All in for the Gambler farewell concert at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, Parton tells Rogers onstage, “I don’t think anybody in the history of music has ever had a better ear for hit songs, nor could they sing ’em better than you."

She adds, "All the years I’ve worked with Kenny, I never get tired of hearing him sing.”

For his part, Rogers said about Parton at the event, “I’ve known Dolly for 30 years, so I think it’s so sweet of her to come here so I can say goodbye properly.”

The two-hour Biography: Kenny Rogers premieres April 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on A&E.

Lady A, Lily Tomlin Praise Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" in "Biography" Sneak Peek

Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" is still one of the most iconic country songs of all time, and now some of Parton's closest friends and biggest fans are paying props to that classic track on A&E's upcoming Biography: Dolly.

“A song like ‘9 to 5,’ everyone could relate to,” Lady Antebellum frontwoman Hillary Scott says in a preview. “From a woman’s standpoint, a lot of those lyrics are hitting on some hot buttons that we’re still talking about today.”

Adds bandmate Charles Kelley, "She gave country music a wider audience; she made it even more popular.”

Meanwhile, Parton's 9 to 5 co-star Lily Tomlin adds about her role in the hit movie of the same name, “She was a big musical star and now a movie audience, with a huge hit as 9 to 5 was, just makes her better. A queen, an empress."
